Worship

Worship Committee

The Worship committee for St. Alban’s Episcopal Church is an advisory committee for the Priest-in-Charge. While the clergy is ultimately responsible for the worship life of St. Alban’s, the Worship Committee is in place to help the clergy understand what is happening within the parish’s community life, and to provide feedback on what might help build the worship life of the parish. The committee members, made up of clergy, parish staff, and laity, meet to discuss ways to enhance worship while preserving those traditions that are meaningful to the parish. The committee members also take on individual responsibilities for seeing that plans made by the committee are carried out, thereby allowing the focus of the clergy to be shared within other ministerial aspects of the church.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is a group of people who have been called by God to take care of the set up and take down of the altar, the washing and pressing of the linens, the cleaning of the vessels, and in general, the “housekeeping”.  Anyone who feels called to help with this is more than welcome. Seek out Betty Jo Everett or Sandy Flory to express your interest!

Acolyte Ministry

The acolyte ministry at St. Alban’s is open to adults, teens and children ages 8 and older. Acolytes are lay altar servers who aid the priest and deacon during the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Acolytes perform ceremonial duties during the service, including lighting the candles on the altar and receiving the offering plates from the ushers. Please contact the church office if you would like to participate in this ministry.

Music

choirThe Choir of St. Alban’s plays a leading role in worship through the singing of hymns, canticles, psalms, anthems, and other service music. It consists of dedicated volunteer singers and musicians who rehearse on alternate Wednesdays and sing each Sunday at the 9:30 am Holy Eucharist and other appointed services. Two music scholarships are offered during each of the two college semesters.

Eveyone that would like to play or sing is welcome to join the choir. The choir is led by Music Director John Dosher.
