We are called to be the hands of the Lord in this place, open to all, reaching out to the community and the world.

Hello to all reading this! It’s been quite a privilege to first serve as vestry person, then the Junior Warden and currently as the Senior Warden at St Albans. Church business is sometimes daunting however I’ve found it to be another way to get closer to God. It’s been a gift for me.

St Alban’s @ Theatre Arlington is what I call the FIRST EPISCOPAL CHURCH. We are not only a downtown church but the only Episcopal church in Arlington. Being centrally located in the midst of the arts district has been a blessing. My husband and I were long time volunteers at Theatre Arlington so when our congregation needed a place to worship, we helped facilitate the arrangement with the theatre staff. It’s continued to be a wonderful arrangement for 8 years.

So yes, because of our location we are unconventional. We can’t kneel but we can bow our heads, we can’t have a permanent altar but we can make one every Sunday, we can’t open the church to you everyday but we can pray for you everyday, we can’t have stain glass windows but we do “see” without windows and while we don’t have our own building, we have each other.

Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

We are not the same old enchilada! We kind of like that about ourselves and we hope you will too.
